This is not true. I am an Electrical Engineer with 28 years of imaging experience. YOu can believe me when I say CRT's have a much wider color gamut and a much higher "resolution of colors" (I presume you mean dynamic color range, or bit depth in a digital system)

Most LCD's can not even be calibrated for accurate color.
